PW-CHF-RO-KIT-3 · Three cartridges — a full year in one box
$147 Free delivery Australia-wide
Compatible aftermarket product by ProperWater — not manufactured by or affiliated with Complete Home Filtration.
Everything the Complete Home Filtration alkalising reverse osmosis system needs for twelve months — sediment, carbon and remineraliser — fitted by you in about ten minutes. No callout, no appointment.
Membrane not included — deliberately. Your RO membrane is replaced every two years, not annually, so it is sold separately. The membrane is here — and keeping this kit on schedule is what protects it.
A full year of filtration in one box
Three cartridges — everything your alkalising reverse osmosis system needs for twelve months, fitted by you in about ten minutes. No callout fee, no appointment, no waiting for someone to knock on your door.
Stage 1 — 5 micron sediment. Catches sand, silt, rust and scale flakes shed by pipework before they reach anything finer. Unglamorous work, and the reason the rest of the system lasts.
Stage 2 — coconut carbon block. Reduces chlorine, taste, odour and trihalomethanes. Chlorine degrades the polyamide film an RO membrane is made from, so this cartridge protects your most expensive component as well as improving how the water tastes.
Stage 3 — alkalising remineraliser. Reverse osmosis strips out the dissolved minerals that give water its taste, leaving it clean but flat and slightly acidic. This cartridge dissolves them back in — predominantly calcium, with trace magnesium and potassium — lifting the water to a steady neutral-to-weakly-alkaline character, then polishes through coconut carbon. It's deliberately a middle point: not flat RO water, not heavily alkalised water.
Why replace all three together: the stages work as a chain — a blocked sediment cartridge starves the carbon, spent carbon exposes the membrane, and depleted mineral media leaves the water flat. One job, once a year.

Why the alkalising stage needs RO in front of it
The mineral media only dissolves into water that's mildly acidic — which is exactly what reverse osmosis water is. That's the design, not a limitation: RO strips the minerals and leaves the water slightly acidic, and the acidity is what drives the remineralisation. On ordinary mains water, which usually sits above pH 7, the media would barely dissolve at all. This cartridge belongs after a membrane, and nowhere else.
One practical tip: draw your water at a modest rate rather than flat out. Slower flow means more contact time with the media, and more contact time means better mineral pickup and taste.
The membrane is separate
Your RO membrane is replaced every two years, not annually, so it isn't in this kit. The CHF-compatible membrane is here → — keeping the sediment and carbon stages fresh is what protects it between changes.
Common questions
Will this fit my Complete Home Filtration RO system?
Yes — including the RO side of the CHF-6200 combined system. It's made for the under-sink alkalising RO systems Complete Home Filtration install, which use standard 10" × 2.5" pre-filter housings and an 11" × 2.5" push-fit alkalising stage. The same standard sizes mean it also fits many other RO systems. Not sure? Send a photo and we'll tell you.
How long does the change take?
About ten minutes. Instructions come with every kit, and if you get stuck, call.
Is this an alkaline water system?
Not in the marketing sense. The remineraliser is tuned as a middle point — a steady neutral-to-weakly-alkaline character rather than a big pH swing. If you want water that tastes like water instead of either flat RO or heavily alkalised water, that's the point of it.
Why does the water taste flat when stage 3 is overdue?
Reverse osmosis water carries almost no dissolved minerals, and minerals are most of what you taste. When the remineraliser is depleted the water reverts to that flat, slightly acidic character.
