Compatible aftermarket product by ProperWater — not manufactured by or affiliated with Complete Home Filtration.
The stage that does the actual filtering in a Complete Home Filtration reverse osmosis system — everything else exists to protect it. A 50 GPD element in the standard 1812 size, producing roughly 190 litres a day.
Protect it between changes. Chlorine attacks the membrane film and sediment blinds its surface — fresh pre-filters are the cheapest protection for a component that costs several times more. The annual kit is here.
The stage that does the actual filtering
Everything else in your system exists to protect this one cartridge. The reverse osmosis membrane is where dissolved solids are reduced — the things far too small for any cartridge filter to catch.
A 50 gallon per day element in the standard 1812 size, producing roughly 190 litres a day depending on your water pressure and temperature.
How you know it's time
The tank takes longer to refill than it used to
The water tastes different — or tastes like nothing at all
Your TDS reading has climbed since the system was new
Or it's simply been two years
A membrane doesn't fail suddenly — it declines quietly, and most people don't notice until they compare a fresh one.

Membrane life comes down almost entirely to what sits in front of it. Chlorine attacks the membrane film directly and sediment blinds the surface — so keeping the pre-filters on an annual schedule is the cheapest way to protect a component that costs several times more. Common questions
Will this fit my Complete Home Filtration RO system?
Yes — including the RO side of the CHF-6200 combined system. The under-sink RO systems Complete Home Filtration install use a standard 1812 membrane housing, and this element is that size. It also fits any other system using an 1812 housing, the most common residential standard. Not sure? Send a photo and we'll tell you.
Does a higher GPD rating mean better filtering?
No — GPD is production rate, not quality. 50 GPD suits a typical household; what matters is the membrane's condition, which is why the two-year interval and fresh pre-filters matter more than the number.
