PW Series filters are manufactured to the standard 15" × 4.5" format used in CHF 15" systems. If your system uses 15" CHF housings, PW Series filters are designed to fit. If you're unsure of your model, send us a photo and we'll confirm before you order — no guessing.

Honest answer — the CHF resin housing uses a proprietary internal structure that's difficult and expensive to manufacture as a pre-filled cartridge. We could absorb that cost and pass it on, but it doesn't make sense for two reasons.

First, the CHF resin housing is purpose-built to be refilled — it has the screen, the flow path and the construction designed for exactly that. Throwing it out every 12 months when only the media inside is spent is wasteful.

Second, loose resin is genuinely the same product. The resin media that goes inside any cartridge-form softener is exactly what we're supplying — NSF/ANSI 61 certified strong acid cation exchange resin (8% DVB crosslinked, 1.9 eq/L minimum capacity, FDA 21 CFR 173.25 compliant). The only difference is the plastic shell around it.

So we ship the media as a 1.5 L resealable bag, you empty the spent resin, rinse, pour in the new resin, and refit. Takes about 5 minutes once a year. The CHF housing keeps working for years.

Sealed-cartridge resin will become available as our supply matures. When that happens, the refill bag will remain the cheaper option for customers who don't mind doing it the original way.

CHF recommends annual replacement. Visible signs include reduced water pressure, returning chlorine taste or smell, or a heavily discoloured sediment filter. In Perth's higher-mineral water zones — with TDS above 500 mg/L — some households find 9-month replacement is better, particularly for the sediment stage.

Filter cartridge replacement on an existing system (not connecting to water supply) can typically be done yourself — it's a twist-out, twist-in process. We include instructions with every order — it's a straightforward twist-out, twist-in process. If you'd prefer us to handle it, our Perth install option ($80) covers this.

Initially we'll be selling the complete 3-filter set at $205. Individual filters will be available as the range expands. Register your interest and we'll let you know — if you only need a specific stage, mention it in your registration and we'll sort something out.

Under Australian Consumer Law (ACL), a supplier cannot void your warranty simply because you used a compatible third-party consumable. This is a well-established consumer right. If CHF attempts to void a warranty claim solely on the basis of filter brand — and the filters are dimensionally compatible and correctly installed — they would likely be acting contrary to ACL. We recommend keeping records of your filter purchases and installation dates. This is not legal advice — consult a solicitor if you have a specific warranty dispute.

Yes — once stock arrives we'll offer individual filters as well as the full 3-filter set. That said, the filters work as a system and all three should ideally be changed at the same time to get the full benefit. The 3-filter set is the most cost-effective option and gives you a full annual reset.
