Water filtration technology, explained

Every filtration technology solves a different problem — and no single cartridge solves them all. Sediment filters catch particles; carbon blocks reduce chlorine, taste and odour; catalytic carbon extends that to chloramine; ion-exchange resin softens hard water by reducing calcium and magnesium; template-assisted crystallisation prevents scale without softening; reverse osmosis reduces dissolved solids; and UV inactivates microorganisms. Where ProperWater fits

From the technologies above, here's what we actually supply: sediment cartridges and carbon blocks in our CHF-compatible replacement sets, ion-exchange softening resin as loose refills and in complete sets, and salt-free scale prevention (NAC) — currently by waitlist. We don't stock reverse osmosis, UV or specialty bore-treatment gear — but if your situation calls for them, our whole-home install service (Perth metro) can advise on the right combination, honestly, including when the answer is "you don't need it".
